MEMORIES ☑️

Every phase of our life is short lived but the memories we keep lasts  forever. The great and not so great things we experience are hinged on keeping us in the moment, but a picture, video or journal of that moment serves as an immortal piece of such experiences. For the good, it brings back smiles to our faces and brightens our present state while the bad gives us the assurance that there’s always a light at the end of every situation.  We meet different individuals at different phases in life and the possibility of growing with the same set of people in the friendship space all through the years is very slim. But keeping memories would give one a higher chance of reconnecting. Moving from high school, I had great friends, but all I have left is the mental pictures of that season. All through my junior secondary school, I had no picture or video to remind me of some moments I’d love to relive. I understand that having mobile phones wasn’t prominent for students my age at that...

Ajuwaya in an Ijaw land

Glory to God, I'm at the end of my service year and I've successfully completed my 12 months of National Service to Nigeria. I was privileged to serve in the South-South region, precisely Bayelsa state. I remember waking up one random morning with a nudge that I was going to serve in Bayelsa and the first thing I did was to open google and search for opportunities in the financial sector of the state. I found out that there was a CBN branch located in Yenagoa and probably that was where the "Lord was sending me to". Ever since then, I've always told those around me that I would serve in Bayelsa. Every time my Mum heard that, she would immediately reject it for me because it is not her daughter that would go for service in a very distant location.  After a very long while (Covid and a sprinkle of OAU), it was finally time to register for NYSC. All my attempts to select four states were futile. I kept on seeing "no states available" and in the end, I regis...

A SECTION OF MY 2020

Whew! Its crazy how I predicted how 2020 would be in 2019. I finished my final undergraduate exams Dec 2019 and my project in Feb, 2020. Anyone that asked what my plan was then would get a detailed prospect of my expectations. I expected that I'll rest at home in March 2020, start internship in April 2020 till around August/November 2020, then go for NYSC. I was so sure I had it calculated. I thought i'd just come home and see internship straight away as per I'm a graduate of OAU (awaiting result🤣) and a graduate member of ICAN (awaiting induction🤠). Hot akara😂. But the wind blew 💨 'Rona came and kept us on an indefinite house arrest. Y'all know the story so don't let me bore you with that. We thank God for the victory we have over it.  But, do y'all know how hard it is to make plans without a slight awareness about the future?? Like, in your mind you want to start something but you're not sure because you can't place a time on it, because the he...

I DON'T SPEAK

Interestingly, I believe we all have been blessed with wonderful people with beautiful souls around us. So literally, we're never alone, there's always someone around us at every phase of our life.  Personally, I'm naturally not the person that would open up about things, or feel like I have a problem and want to share it. Nope. I rarely talk about personal stuffs with people  (not always a good quality tho). I do not like being a subject of discussion anywhere, it feels weird to me. I didn't grow up with the system of telling people how exactly I feel, although, I don't have a valid reason for this, I believe it's just how I grew up. Nevertheless, I'm a sweet, beautiful, smart, lovely, God fearing, jovial, ever smiling young lady. You sef see now 😁😁😎, so you'll not think it's only traits that are somehow that I have😂😂 Don't let us lose focus😉, let's get back on track I know I've been blessed with the best of people that I believe ...

WOULD MY REVIEW MATTER?

Look retrospectively at that point in your life where you were praised for doing something good and spectacular, how did you feel?  It is often said that organizations whose major aim is to satisfy customers whilst maximizing profits always turn out to be industry leaders. How would the organizations be able to ascertain the actualization of the goal of satisfying customers without the presence of reviews, increased customer base and repurchase?  So, here is the process: You buy a product, you love it and you drop a positive review (review) Someone sees your review and is compelled to buy the product (increased customer base) Every initial purchase initiates another purchase because consumers love the product (repurchase) The whole process may not have been possible without the review. It works the same way for everybody. But the focus here will be on those that put out contents. Most often than not, a lot of people who put out contents for others to see are always skeptical a...

Help my Unbelief😭

Sometimes ago, I was on the phone with a friend discussing the whole Covid issue. We both lamented about how the pandemic has disrupted the whole year making it hard for scheduled events to occur. I mentioned something during that conversation, " Covid cannot go this year because it takes close to 18 months for Scientists to discover a vaccine and for the vaccine to be accepted " and the Virus has barely spent half of that. After some days, the Holy Spirit brought to my attention what I said and how faithless that sentence was. At the moment I said those words, I felt I was saying the reality, unknown to me that I was talking about a faithless reality. And God doesn't like faithlessness and unbelief oo😭😭😭. At that point, I started reminiscing on all the things the Lord has done. The same God created the Heavens and the Earth, created we humans from clay, parted the Red Sea, fed the Israelites with manna, made dry bones receive life, turned water to wine, healed all k...

POST-COVID AND THE NEW NORMAL

Obviously, several persons heard “New Normal” for the first time due to Covid-19, however, the term “New Normal” has existed way before the Covid-19 pandemic. Between 2007 and 2008, there was a Global financial crisis and economists refers to this crisis as the deepest financial crisis that hit the world. In a bid to highlight the aftermath of the financial crisis, business experts and economist made use of the term “New Normal” which simply identifies a deviation from the normal. So, simply put, New Normal may refer to an abnormal scenario or change from the former.       To provide a little background information on Covid-19, the Centre for Disease Control on its website explained that “COVID-19 is caused by a coronavirus called SARS-CoV-2. Older adults and people who have severe underlying medical conditions like heart or lung disease or diabetes seem to be at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19 illness”. The vir...

Our Governmental Dispositions

In our world today, every Country or Sovereign State has a Constituted Authority. Such Authority is called the Government. The Government are a section of the people, other people have chosen to lead them. At least, Democratically, that's what it means. In a correct system, the Government is supposed to be accountable to the citizens of her country. But in a failed system, it may not be so🤦. Our Government is not perfect. People would and will still continue to make mistakes in what ever position they are. And such people are the ones that makes up the Government. The citizens of the country are not perfect either, we all have flaws, we believe if we get into the governmental leadership position, we would perform excellently well, better than the previous people. Well, its just something we wish for🙄. But what should we do instead, we are aware we have an imperfect government system with citizens that are full of flaws, what should be our disposition? 1. Instead of rain...

Calm down

Take a chill pill, think about it, pray about it, meditate on it, don't be quick in making some decisions. A well thought of idea pays off. Some people are living in two different worlds, the one they are in and the one in their mind. Such people enjoy being alone and as such have to take their mental health serious. If its time for you to fallback from every thing around you, please do, not everyone will understand that you need that space. But you understand you need it, so give your self that treat😉 Stay safe🌹

In times like this...

I would be wrong if I said we weren't in trying times all around the world. The issue we are facing isn't for a particular strata. Both young, old, rich, poor, beautiful, not so beautiful, white, black or who ever it is are passing through this issue. Some even feel the world is coming to an end 😁😁😁. Some people have even given up on 2020, they are already saying 2021 is their year🤣🤣🤣. But to be factual, we are not even done with the first quarter and " e be things ". A whole lot has happened within the first 90 days of 2020,the world is on compulsory standstill 'cause of this virus, fire outbreaks, plagues, earthquakes and many more. Sighs😪. What should be our disposition in times like this especially for this virus:   1. Pray : The Bible admonishes us to pray prayers of Faith. The same bible tells us faith without work is dead. So inasmuch as we are praying, also take actions. Taking action is scriptural. If action is staying at home, then stay at ho...

The Strength in Weaknesses

We cannot but agree that our world is filled with people we want to be like, our role models, mentors and the likes. Even these role models of ours also have people they look up to. Its just the cycle of life.  We wake up every morning seeing pictures of these ones doing exploits, making waves and doing extraordinary stuffs but the little you is still battling with some weaknesses which sort of discourages you that you cannot attain what you desire. Well, its life.  But recently, I've come to understand that we gain strength from weaknesses. Imagine the teacher, doctor, preacher, billionaire or who ever it is you look up to, comes out and opens up to you that he faced the same stuffs you are currently facing and he still came out to be what he is today, imagine the kind of courage that would beem up in you, the feeling that you are not alone in what you are facing. Just imagine!  If people with already made success story, potential success story or what ever story it is...

A Celebrity

Ever wondered how it feels, that there are some kinda very important people in this world, they are popular, rich and famous. You think of your self so little beside them. What fills your mind is just one opportunity to see one of them and you will take a whole load of pictures and post them on Facebook, Instagram or your WhatsApp status, so that your friends can view you as someone that has met a celebrity. It feels good tho! But have you also wondered that some people out there are also looking at you as a celebrity. Tho, you might not be rich, famous or popular but you have something in you that makes you stand out. No matter who you are in this world, someone out there is looking up to you, someone out there is wanting to do the things you do, someone out there is looking for just one opportunity to take a picture with you. You might as well be wondering that "who is this somebody" well, you haven't found out because you haven't paid attention to that phase of y...
